Allen Gresham

Background: Gresham was born and raised in the Elbert area and still resides on a farm in that community. He owned and operated his own insurance business for 24 years. Gresham is retired from the Elbert School after 40 years as the Transportation Director. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years.

Gresham and his wife, Beverly, have been married 49 years and have three children and seven grandchildren.

Memberships/Community Service: Member of the Elbert Christian Church and is a retired First Aid and CPR instructor.

Board Experience: He is the Assistant Secretary on the Board and is a member of the Executive, Building and Facilities, 2008 Annual Meeting, and Education committees. Gresham has taken all the necessary courses required for the Rural Electric Director certification and completed the Cooperative Credential Program. Past member of the Federated Rural Electric Insurance Board.

Statement of Position: ”We are a fast growing cooperative and I believe we need directors with the education and experience to run our company. I also feel the cooperative is going in the right direction with its Green Power Program. I have purchased Green Power since the program was offered and believe it is important to find alternative fuel sources for the future. I believe in the cooperative principles and, with my past experience, I hope to continue to be a good director and a benefit to MVEA.”
