Naomi Malcom

Background: A native of the Agate area, Malcom graduated from Limon High School in 1970 and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from Colorado State University. She is an Occupational Therapist and the department head for the Rehabilitation Department at Lincoln Community Hospital in Hugo.

Malcom and her husband, Terry, have three children and live north of Limon where they farm and ranch.

Memberships/Community Service: Member, choir member, Deaconess, Praise Team Member and Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church of Limon; member of the American Occupational Therapy Association; Colorado Occupational Therapy Association.

Board Experience: Naomi is currently serving as Secretary/treasurer. She served on the 2005 Annual Meeting, Executive, Policy, Wage & Salary, Budget, and Audit Committees. She has taken all the necessary courses required for the Rural Electric Director Certification. Malcom is past president of Western United Electric Supply Corporation.

Statement of Position: "My years of experience as a director for MVEA has provided me with a level of expertise in the electric cooperative industry that I truly feel is of great benefit to not only MVEA, but the industry as a whole. I appreciate the members' support and their confidence which allows me to serve them as their director. My ultimate goal is to provide our members with the most reliable service and lowest price possible and still govern a financially sound company. Our industry continually faces changes and that is why an experienced, informed and dedicated director is what is needed. I believe I offer these characteristics. I count it a privilege to serve my constituents as their director for MVEA.
