Background: Martin is the owner-operator of the Limon Comfort Inn in Limon and the Sterling Comfort Inn in Sterling. From 1985 to 2001 he owned and operated the Fireside Junction Restaurant in Limon. Prior to having his restaurant, he was employed as general manager of Rip Griffin's Truck Stop in Limon, manager of Milwaukee Truck Stop in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, and was a high school math teacher and coach in Freeport, Illinois. Martin received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education from St. Joseph's College, Rensselaer, Indiana. He and his wife, Georgann, have resided in Limon since 1980. They have five children.

Memberships/Community Service: Member and past president of the Limon Rotary Club, past officer of Citizens Investment Club, past chairman of the Limon Public Schools District Accountability Committee. He is a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Limon.

Board Experience: Member of the MVEA Board of Directors since 1988. He is currently the president of the board and serves as ex-officio on all board committees. He has taken all the necessary courses required for the Rural Electric Director certification. He is also past secretary of the Limon School Board and past member of the Limon Town Board of Trustees. He has also served as past member and past chairman of the Diocese of Colorado Springs Foundation Board of Directors

Statement of Position: “After serving on the MVEA Board for several years, I have become aware of how complicated the rural electric systems are and have gained a comfort level in understanding these complexities. I hope to continue to work as a director for Mountain View Electric and its consumers. I will do everything I can to protect and lead Mountain View Electric Association and its consumers.”
