B. D.  Paddock

Position: Vice President
(Board Member since 1971)

District: District 1

Background: Paddock owns and operates a ranch near Ellicott. He retired from the U.S. Post Office Department after 30 years of service. Paddock served for four years in the military and is a Korean War Veteran. He and his wife, Ramona, live in the Ellicott area.They have three grown children and ten grandchildren.

Memberships/Community Service: Member of the Supervisory Committee of the Pikes Peak Federal Credit Union and Past Master Ramah Lodge #165, AF & AM. Paddock is also past President of the El Paso County Past Masters Association.

Board Experience: Paddock currently serves as vice president. He is also the member of the Executive and Wage and Salary Committees. Paddock is also the past vice president of the Board of Directors of the Upper Black Squirrel Ground Water Management District. Since 1986, he has been a director and past president of Colorado Rural Electric Association Board of Directors. Bud is also the current president of Mountain View Service Corporation.

Statement of Position: "I believe it is important for MVEA to continue to provide the member/owners with reliable electrical service with the lowest possible rates. It is equally important to keep MVEA a strong member oriented and financially sound cooperative. I believe we have a responsibility to help improve the environment by giving our members the opportunity to participate in a strong renewable energy program, which we offer to our members. I personally have purchased green power since the program's inception and I encourage more of our members to join this program. I will continue to strive to improve MVEA through sound policy and financial decisions."
